Norfrakalk AS

NorFraKalk was founded in 2004 by the Norwegian company Franzefoss Minerals AS (50 %) and Finnish Nordkalk (50 %). The company produces quicklime for manufacture of the paper pigment PCC. The production is based on one of the largest sources of limestone in Europe and is a pure and white quility. Production was started late 2007. The kiln has a capacity of 200 000 tonnes quicklime per annum. The kiln is based on best available tecnique (BAT) ensuring effective energy utilisation and minimal emissions. Production is placed at Verdal Harbour where the end product is transported by ship providing a good logistics solutions.
